Do you have a passion for enriching the lives of others and understanding the needs of families or communities? Are you compelled to learn about the human mind and investigate mental health? Have you been inspired by culinary shows like Top Chef and you want a career in the restaurant industry? Have you dreamed of designing a clothing line or working with families on interior home designs? The Human Services sectors provide a variety of learning opportunities in food and food safety, human nutrition, family economic decisions, child life and development, parenting, mental health, and event planning and fashion.

FASHION AND INTERIOR DESIGN
The sector of fashion and interior design is driven by social lifestyle,culture, economic behavior, art and expression. A student in this
sector explores the intersection of aesthetics and individual creativity to produce designs. Projects in these courses may include from producing clothing designs to staging designs.

RESTAURANT AND EVENT MANAGEMENT
A student in the Restaurant and Event Management sector develops skills needed to successfully coordinate and direct resources in order to assure a restaurant or event runs smoothly and efficiently. This sector emphasizes an understanding of culinary practices as well as the development of leadership skills used in interacting with both staff  and customers. Students in this sector complete their studies by working directly with the community on projects and events in order to accomplish goals set individually by the student.

TRAVEL AND TOURISM
The Travel and Tourism sector studies the management of travel services for consumers. Examples of travel services and entities include destinations, attractions, airlines, cruise lines, museums, cultural institutions and booking-related services. A student in this sector learns and practices the management and hospitality skills necessary to execute the day-to-day tasks of a career in this sector.

FAMILY AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE
Students in this sector will gain an understanding for child and human development, family relations, psychology, mental health, and social services. Students who choose this pathway could potentially work in psychology, marriage and family therapy, counseling, social services, youth court advocates, community engagement, or for a non-profit organization.
